Congratulations on a job well done!! Arrington on the Air always makes me smile and sometimes laugh out loud. I enjoy the many different segments, the sounds of letters, the joke-of-the-day, the weather report, and student interviews are really great. Keep learning!! I love you.

Yes, I agree - I have lived in Kaufman for 27 years and Jake came home telling me things that I NEVER knew about. He told me about places that I did not know even existed in Kaufman.

He has already planned when we go on vacation, this summer that we need to stop and look at historical markers. I guess I will have to do some research on historical markers.

It is nice for the kids to be able to get out of the classroom and experience learning in a different setting.

You have certainly peaked Jake's curiosity about past events not only around Kaufman but in Texas.

What an amazing day. Isn't it fun to see learning happen outside of the classroom? There are so many experiences that cannot be put in a textbook or video. Way to go!

This is my favorite post so far. Probably because I am a dog lover. Thank you so much for sharing your time class with us. I wish I could have seen her play hide and seek. You all asked great questions and made a very sharp podcast. Keep sharing your experiences because I love reading and hearing what you guys are up to.

Your aunt sounds like she was an amazing women/teacher but I was wondering if you were looking in the mirror when your wrote this blog? You teach a younger group of kids that can't express themselves as your aunt's students were able to express how much she impacted their lives. You are doing the same thing just with a younger audience. Never under estimate the impact that you have on these kids. As a adult, I remember my third grade teacher (Ms. Carroll) and the impact that she had on my life. She was probably part of the reason that I went into education myself.

Your students may not be able to express their feelings for you as a mentor but believe me you are to your students what your Aunt Sherry was to her kiddos.

I am honored that Jake shares the same birthday as your Aunt Sherry.

Words can not begin to express what an amazing teacher Mrs. Arrington is. My oldest son had Mrs. A for first grade so I came into this year knowing how incredible she was as a teacher but it goes so far above just being a teacher. This is Jake’s first year in public school. For those of you that do not know, Jake has a hearing loss in his left ear which left me as a parent and certified teacher apprehensive of Jake transferring into public school but I knew if it was ever going to happen I wanted him to have Mrs. A. for a teacher. Jake is that shy kid until you get to know him and Mrs. A. has made the transformation easy for Jake as well as his mother. I know as a teacher Mrs. A. is bound by certain limitations of what can be taught and how she goes about doing it but as that teacher she has gone above and beyond the call of duty. She is that SUPERWOMAN that gets it all done. “Arrington on the Air” is a perfect example of Mrs. A. thinking outside of the box. The children enjoy it so much that they are completely oblivious to the idea that they are learning. She is teaching our kids that lessons are not just taught between the lines of a textbook but are at every corner just waiting for our kids to reach for them. Children learn by example. If they have a teacher that is leading them each day with the concept: Today, I know I can do better and I will try to improve myself. Then hopefully our children are grasping this idea and they too will be able to apply this concept to each day that faces them.

We all have that one teacher that left that impression on us while we grew up and I am certain that Mrs. A. will be at the top of that list for so many of our children because she has truly touched their hearts as well as their minds.

Thank you Mrs. A. for ALL that you do. You are truly a blessing.
